Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.

I'm going to be MIA (because, you know, I'm always in action) for the rest of this week. I feel bad everyday when I don't post, but I can't this week so I guess I need to suck it up. This post will be quick because I'm busy, remember?

I like lemons and everything, so you as readers should too. Be happy that I like to give you some.

you know what they say about musicians-
Musicians are supposed to be good with their hands. And whattayaknow, Edward's a musician.

This story the same author, inthestars, and it looks awesome. I haven't had the chance to read it yet, but I will. I'm a sucker for any historical stories.

Soif de Sang-
Set in the 1930s. Fueled by guilt and self-hatred, Edward leaves Carlisle and Esme to hunt the darkest creatures of humanity: murderers, rapists, thieves, criminals. But what happens when one of their victims calls to him on a whole other level?

Happy Belated

Happy belated St. Valentine's Day to you all. Did you eat as much chocolate as you could handle? I did to the extreme... It was also President's Day yesterday here in the United States, so yes, there will be fics rec'd on that. But first the V-day... (Some are cheesy, but whatever!)

Valentine's Day 2010
Jacob wants Nessie to be his Valentine. How does he do it? Through cheesy jokes, duh.

Boycotting Valentine's Day
Some women have trouble finding guys, Bella has the opposite problem. When Valentine's Day approaches, her prospective suitors turn up their game, hoping to be her Valentine. Instead, Bella chooses to hang out with her best friend Alice and they both decide to boycott Valentine's Day. A weekend of non-Valentine's Day activities are lined up including no guys allowed. But, surely Alice's brothers, Edward and Emmett, don't count, right?

Bella Swan hates Valentine’s Day with a passion. She didn’t always; it was all good until He broke her heart. Now she’s a bitter woman that’s forgotten the meaning of your significant other. What happens when Bella gets a special Valentines Day surprise?

Now for a President's Day fic (Not really president-y, but government stuff):

Lt Edward Masen and his Navy SEALs are on a mission to stop terrorist groups in a small African country. Bella Swan the journalist has been dumped on them to protect while she documents the lives of people in the war zone.

Team Switzerland.

I was going to have a Valentine's Day post, but my computer decided that it was a good time to screw up. I'll probably do a late one tomorrow.

I say 'Team Switzerland' because that was the first thing I thought of when a Swiss ski jumper won the gold medal at the Olympics . How sad is that? That fans can see something and relate it to Twilight. I mean everything. If I look in front of me, I see a laundry basket. This reminds me of when Bella's clothes are stolen from her in Eclipse. You see what I mean?

^This has nothing to do with the post, I just wanted to put some Olympics into it. :]

Today's post is a fluff. Fluff is just all cutesy stuff and I, personally, love it.

This fluff made me crack up when I read it, so I had to post it:

One Last Banana-
Bella relishes her last time to enjoy a banana and Edward teases her about it. Fun, fluffy, humorous, and slightly sad on the part of the banana.

A REMINDER AND UPDATE FOR CONTEST!

The contest has been PUSHED BACK TO SATURDAY, MARCH 20TH for personal reasons. Thanks for understanding.

That Breaking Dawn Contest is still going on and if you'd like to hop on board email me (melissaisatwilightlover@gmail.com). It is all about those missing moments in the last book in the Twilight Saga.

Quick Rec:
Across the Ocean
In one quick and thoughtless act, Bella Swan sends a letter in a bottle across the ocean. It reaches England, where Edward Cullen finds it, and begins their correspondance, one that leads to more than either of them could expect.

Oh, Canon.

Canon. One of my favorite fanfiction genres. Actually, it is my absolute favorite. The reason why: these stories focus on the characters we first fell in love with.
If you are out of bounce with this term here is the definition, exclusively from Wikipedia (because we all love it!):

Canon refers to the "official" source material upon which fan fiction can be based. In recent years, some fandoms have engaged in lengthy debate over what is or is not "canon", usually due to multiple writers in various media creating contradictory source material... It is important to note that something that is regarded as "canon" is regarded as being essentially a verifiable fact in the given fandom. Details as complex as the laws of physics in a given story universe or as minute as how a character's name is meant to be spelled can be referred to as "canon" details, so long as they are specifically shown or otherwise directly revealed in the source material; this includes character behavior as well, though debate over what can or cannot be considered "canon behavior" is often a point of contention in fandom... In short, "canon" in the context of fanfiction is both the accepted "official" material itself, and a concept or detail promoted by the original work and/or in accepted "official" material.

l'm not so sure that I accept canon as 'official material, though, but the stuff written is fantastic (most of it). Some examples of the work:
Triangles With Linear Qualities
Jacob doesn't even like geometry.

I liked this one, since it is in third person and that it is set place in New Moon (my favorite book). Bella and Jake are taking a break from being 'irresponsible' and doing homework. Jacob uses the triangles he is studying for math as a metaphor for his relationship with Bella.

Numb-
We know Bella tore her stereo out of her truck...this is her story of that day.

This one-shot killed me. Seriously, I was so upset when I read it. Music is a connection that Edward and Bella have and when he leaves during New Moon, all that is gone. Every reminder of him, taken away, broken, like the stereo.

Whole-
After centuries of waiting, the Cullen family is finally complete. Rosalie observes as the last piece of their puzzle finally slots into place.

This was so canon. It showed Rosalie's reaction to Renesmee perfectly. While Rose thinks that Nessie is hers, she needs to face the truth. She isn't her daughter and Rose will have to accept that.

If you'd like to read more like this, there is an awesome C2 Community called All Canon Twilight

I'm Sure You Did This Too.

So, how about that Super Bowl (Can I say that or is it copyright infringement?)? I watch it specifically for the commercials and read during the actual game.
I bet you watched it, non like I did.
........
Exactly. You only were in it for the advertisements, too.
The only thing 97% of Americans like about it is the commercials. This does not relate to Twilight whatsoever, I just needed to say. I mean, it could. I could say 97% of the readers read it because of Edward. And this is true.

I'm especially excited to hear from WhyFightAnEclipseWhenTheresJaz who sent me a PM about her one-shot. And you know I love them, but her story Cullens Adopt a Kid caught my eye instead! Check it out, I hear it's funny stuff.

Dear Fanfiction,

 Dear Fanfiction,
What have you done to me? I'm constantly looking through your site for stories based on the coolest characters I know of. Does this make me a junkie? I'm addicted to this heroin. I make puns of it, too. Yes, I know I'm an addict! But this has gone way too far!
This letter to you is for a reason. A crazy one, in fact. I'm giving up. No more blogging every day about you. No more of this! A weekly thing, the blogging should be. Maybe twice a week. My responsablilty has been flushed down the drain for almost every day per week. I'm not quitting the blogging, I'm just quitting everyday
So, from now on twice a week of blogging. Or once a week. I might go crazy and do it three times.
Forgive me for not visiting you via blogger as much as I was doing, Fanfiction.
With love and many other things,
Mel

Woo! Got that over with. So rec time? Yes indeed:
Cynthia, if anyone remembers from New Moon, is Alice Cullen's human sister. This fic is going to be Pre-Twilight. Cynthia and Alice are closer than ever. But when Alice starts acting different, and slowly slipping away, what will Cynthia do? It's up to Cynthia to save her sister, before it's too late.

Fandom Celebration Day

Jasper's Darlins thinks that there has been way too much negativity in this Fandom lately, and quite frankly, I agree. This post today is to do away with that negativity to, hopefully, make it positive. So here is my story about how I discovered Twilight and the Fandom behind it...

It was a dark afternoon. Ok, I'm not getting that angsty, but how I found out about Twilight was pretty simple. A friend down the street (Holla Telly!) was reading this book about vampires. I reacted like any Harry Potter fan would have, 'Really, vampires? I understand boy wizards, but...' So I went on and on about how ridiculous the idea of reading that then God-awful book. Telly stopped my rambling, 'No, you haven't read this. You have to.' I took the book from her hands and agreed. Moving back up to my house in my then-in-style-ultra-flare-jeans (it was 2006 and the 90s was back) I opened the door, plopped onto my couch and read.
Four damn hours, one sitting, a headache from reading, and I was in love. I immediately got onto my laptop, searched for something Twilight related and got... nothing. It was drought online! New Moon wasn't in my vocab until later that year (I did the HP thing during the gap). I read that book, hating Edward and wanting to do naughty things to Jake.
Online again I went, and guess what? Fansites. A plethora of them, might I add. I overloaded on blogs, commenting like a mad woman. Each reply I got back was actually nice, non like the HP sites.
Then the news of the movie deal spread. I spazzed out even more, deciding to make a blog (that turned out horrible, by the way). More into the Fandom I went, then finding this one site. Fanfiction.net. This was like the best thing I had ever seen. I opened up a new story and dived right in...

So that was my Twilight story, but why am I immersed into this Fandom? Well, it is welcoming. That's the main reason. I have never known any other fanbase that has welcomed anyone with open arms. And they, you, did it to me. Four years running I have been caught up in it, and for four more years I'll stay.

You can't have a post without the recs:
Living on the streets is hard for Bella Swan, but not as hard as putting up with Edward Cullen when he drags her into his lifestyle of sex, drugs and Rock and Roll. Will they be able to help each other before they kill each other?

I found this ages ago (when it had about 100 reviews), but I never got around to reading it. I just found it on my bookmarks, so I hope that you can bookmark it, too.
